Arsenal sports director Andrea Berta has led the charges this summer to reinforce Mikel Arteta’s ranks, with Gunners deciding to wait more than two years for the Premier League title.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is the now confirmed Arsenal player after completing medical care at the club last week (Sky Sports) and backing up 30-year-old David Raya joined from Chelsea for just £5 million.
“We’re so happy that Kepa has joined us,” Arteta said of Kepa’s arrival at Emirates Stadium.
“He is a player we know and has challenged him many times in recent seasons, and he brings a wealth of experience.
“Kepa works hard and raises our level. He’s a perfect fit and knows he already knows some of his teammates.
Arsenal is likely to announce the signature of Martin Zubimendi at some point this week, and Brentford Captain Christian Norgaard is also expected to receive medical care in the coming days (Athletic).
Arsenal also wants to sign a new offensive midfielder/winger in consultation with Valencia defender Christian Mosquera, but the supporters are particularly keen to see Berta wait for the club for a long time for a prolific star striker.
There have been tentative links to things like Chelsea forward Nicholas Jackson and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, but two big names stand out as targets heading towards Arsenal’s top centre – Benjamin Sesco from RB Leipzig and Viktor Gyokeres from Sports CP.
Fresh behind his best Bundesliga campaign to date, Sesco was Arsenal’s top target last summer and January (Ben Jacobs), and Berta discussed Slovenia International, which costs £94,000 this summer.
Meanwhile, Gyoker is at the heart of the public fallout between Sports and President Frederico Valanda, and although the 27-year-old is considered extremely enthusiastic about moving to Arsenal, he is worried that his price tag will jeopardize the movement (record).
As Berta leads the talk, Sesco and Gjoker are paying attention to Arsenal’s moves
According to Givemesport and trustworthy journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal’s intentions will be revealed regarding the deal with either man.
Berta has given Sesko and Gyoker’s “advanced talks” as has been widely reported elsewhere, with Jacobs saying they both welcome the move to North London. However, the key to making a transaction is, of course, to reach the final price tag.
Arsenal’s purpose is to sign Sesco or Gyoker for around £60 million, but personal terms are not really an issue, especially considering the latter currently only costs around £40,000 in Portugal.
Considering that something like Man United is also looking for a top striker, Arsenal can’t afford to dim down here for too long, especially in his connection with Gyoker.
