Liverpool’s numbers pay homage to past and present numbers following the tragic death of Diogo Jota at just 28 years old.

Alongside his older brother Andre, Portugal International’s passes rock the world of football and flood the entire game.

Among those who speak publicly are Darwin Nunes, who is ahead of the current Liverpool, and former club icons Stephen Gerrard and Jamie Carrager.

Last season, Uruguay International, who wore a No. 9 shirt at Anfield, posted a message on Instagram in Spanish.

Translated, the 25-year-old wrote: “There is no word of comfort in so much pain. I always remember you with your smile.

“I will send all my strength to his family. I am sure no matter where he is, he will always be with you, especially your wife and three children.”

Carragher posted via BBC News: “This morning, catastrophic news about Diogo Jota and his brother Andre.

“I have my thoughts with my family and friends, especially my wife Rute and all of my three lovely children.”

Gerrard has been added easily: “Lipp Diogo. During this incredibly sad time, I would like to express my sadness to his family and friends.”

The duo joined Cristiano Ronaldo and many others from the broader football community after this horrifying event.
