Tottenham Hotspur defender Christian Romero is linked to his move from the club, and Atletico Madrid wants to secure his signature.

So far, the Spanish outfit has not been able to convince Tottenham to sell the players. According to journalist Fernando Cizzis, Tottenham president Daniel Levy has offered to make South America the highest paying player at the club.

However, Romero explains to him that it’s not about money, and he seeks new professional challenges. He also added that he has great love and admiration for the club, but he wants to move on.

“the do not have a Case of money but of professional assignment. I love Tottenham and that Intention everytime Become in my Heart,” Romero said.

Journalists claim Atletico Madrid is aiming to secure his services at a fee of around 55 million euros. They could also offer a bonus of around 1,000-15 million euros. It remains to be seen whether Levy is ready to sanction his departure.

The defender has made it clear he wants to move on and he wants to play for a Spanish club. He helped Tottenham win the UEFA Europa League last season. Tottenham has been going through a period of rebuilding and they may not be in a position to challenge the league title. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid has a talented team and a world-class manager. They certainly could fight for major trophies.

Some quality additions during the summer transfer period could help the LA La Liga outfit push the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid next season.

Romero was one of the best defenders in the world and he was able to improve them significantly. He has won the World Cup and Copa America in Argentina and is about to win the biggest trophy in club football.
