Daniel Suarez Stays Positive: “It’s Not Sad” About the Truck House Division

Truckhouse Racing announced on Tuesday that their former driver, Daniel Suarez, will not be returning as the driver of the No. 99 Chevrolet in 2026. Speaking with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Suarez expressed that he is not sad about the change, viewing it as the start of a new chapter. He emphasized that this decision was not unexpected, having known about it for some time, and feels relieved now that it’s official so he can focus on future plans. Suarez expressed gratitude for his time with the team, highlighting the positive relationships and absence of any ill will, while also mentioning that he’s thinking about his family.

When Trackhouse Racing launched as a single-car team in 2021, they signed Suarez, who had previously raced for major teams like Joe Gibbs Racing and Stewart-Haas Racing, where he was also eventually replaced. Suarez achieved a milestone with Truckhouse as their first NASCAR Cup Series winner, though his tenure had its challenges over the past five years. Meanwhile, the team has a promising young driver, Connor Zilisch, who is drawing interest from other teams and is widely expected to be considered as Suarez’s replacement, though no official announcements have been made yet.

Fan Take: This development is significant for NASCAR fans because it marks the end of an era for a talented driver who helped Truckhouse rise in the sport. It also signals a potential shift toward fresh talent with Connor Zilisch, which could bring new energy and competition to the NASCAR Cup Series.
