Wimbledon 2025 is becoming a bloody blast for top-ranked players, and Tommy Paul is the latest domino to fall. The No. 13 seed and one of the top Americans in the tournament, Paul fell to Austria’s Sebastian Ofner in the four sets.

Paul dominated the start with his first set 6-1. But then, Ofner fought back, winning the next three highly contested sets, 7-5, 6-4, 7-5. Paul overtook Offee across several important statistics, but the Austrians played boldly and picked up nearly 50 forced errors, but scored more overall points.

This year Wimbledon has already seen a huge number of disruptions in its first two rounds of play. On the female side, four of the five top seed players were eliminated in the first three days. There are several top male players, including No. 4 seed Jack Draper, who also saw No. 3 in the tournament, including No. 4 seed Jack Draper.

Paul’s loss also leaves Wimbledon, with little Americans left, both male and female. No. 12 seed Francis Tiafoe lost to Cameron Norry on Tuesday, but a few unseeded Americans have already fallen out of the men’s singles tournament. On the women’s side, Jessica Pegra and Coco Gouf were both eliminated after a first round loss on straight sets.

The best seeded American still in the tournament progressed to the third round after a five-set marathon with No. 5 Taylor Fritz and five-set Canadian Gabriel Diallo. Fritz survived a considerable challenge from Diallo, dropping the first set and picking up a key tiebreaker before finally finishing the match.
