Portuguese player Francis Co Cabral was paying tribute to his compatriot Dio Gojota wearing a Wimbledon shirt and a black ribbon on Friday.

Jota and his brother Andre Silva were killed in a car accident early on Thursday morning near Zamora, Spain.

All England Club has announced that after Jota dies it will allow court people to relax and respectfully relax a strict all-white dress code for players.

Cabral and partner Lucas Meadler were knocked out of the championship doubles competition on Friday, losing 3-6, 6-7 (9-11) to Petr Nouza and Patrick Rickle.

Speaking Thursday after beating Jamie Murray and Razyev Ram, Cabral spoke about Jota’s major impact.

“It’s very sad news, not just in the world of sports, but in the whole of Portugal,” he said.

“Because he is such an idol, such an icon, such a good person throughout his life. So he is very inspiring to me.”

A tribute has been made to the entire sports world for Liverpool’s advancement, including social media posts by Portuguese teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp and club rivals Everton and Manchester United.
