The WNBA is approaching the halfway point of the season, with all-star captains, starters, and head coaches already announced. The only remaining reveal is the list of reserve players. Meanwhile, the focus is on upcoming games as teams battle for better standings, with two matches slated for Saturday, July 5th, 2025.

In Los Angeles, the Sparks are set to face off against the Indiana Fever. Despite missing Kate Linklark for her fifth consecutive game, Indiana has maintained strong momentum with three straight wins, including a victory in Tuesday’s Commissioners Cup and a recent win over Las Vegas. Kelsey Mitchell is leading the Fever with an average of 19.3 points per game, and the team holds a 9-8 record this season. On the other hand, the Sparks have struggled, sitting at 5-13 and sixth in the Western Conference after dropping two consecutive games, including a recent loss to New York. Kelsey Plum tops the Sparks’ scoring with 20.1 points per game but has yet to spark a turnaround.

The Minnesota Lynx are preparing to take on the Golden State Valkyrie, an expansion team off to a solid start. With a 9-7 record and a fourth-place spot in the Western Conference, Golden State has quickly become competitive, having recently defeated Seattle. Kayla Thornton leads the Valkyrie with 15 points per game, and five players score in double digits. Despite a recent loss to Indiana, the Lynx remain a strong contender—from last season’s WNBA Finals runners-up to their recent 92-75 win over Washington, powered by Nafisa Collier’s league-leading 24.6 points per game.

Both games promise excitement, with home teams favored in each matchup.
