Flavien Prat and Chad Brown secured the top trainer and jockey titles respectively at the Belmont Spring-Summer Meet held at the Big A. Flavien Prat, an Eclipse Award-winning jockey, claimed his first riding title at a New York Racing Association (NYRA) event by achieving 43 wins between May 1 and July 6. The meet included notable events such as the five-day Belmont Stakes Racing Festival and the four-day July 4th racing festival at Saratoga Race Course.

The 32-year-old French native reached his 2,000th North American win during the meet on June 27, riding Iron Max to victory. Highlights for Prat included a Grade 1 win with Fion in the Belmont Oaks Invitational and multiple stakes wins in races such as the Grade 2 Bed O’ Rose, Grade 3 Peter Pan, Manila, and Westchester, along with the Listed Skylarville race. Prat expressed gratitude to his team, trainers, and owners for their support, specifically acknowledging trainer Chad Brown for his unwavering support upon Prat’s move east.

Prat’s mounts amassed over $4 million in earnings with a strong win percentage of 28.29% and money-rate of 61.84%. Finishing behind him were Irad Ortiz Jr. with 34 wins and Dylan Davis with 31.

On the training side, Chad Brown, a five-time Eclipse Award winner, took home the training title with 27 wins running horses for Powerhouse Stable. Brown credited his team and the smooth logistics of handling horses across various NYRA divisions for the success. This victory marked Brown’s seventh Belmont Spring/Summer title and his 34th training title on the NYRA circuit. His notable wins included Grade 1 triumphs with Dynamic Pricing and Grade 2 wins with Methods and Means and others. Brown’s horses earned nearly $3 million, maintaining a 24.11% win rate and 63.39% money rate. Linda Rice and Hall of Famer Bill Mott finished second and third in training wins.

In the owners’ category, Seth Klarman’s Klaravich Stables won their 30th NYRA owner title and sixth Belmont Spring/Summer title with 13 wins, including stakes victories highlighted by Dynamic Pricing and Methods and Means. Their horses earned over $1.16 million. Linda Rice and owners Repre Stubble and Michael Dove followed in standings.
