The six-time WNBA All-Star Alyssa Thomas received great news on Sunday as highlighted by Athlon Sports. The Phoenix Suns proudly have two players representing Indiana at the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, with Thomas being named among the final reserves for the event.

Since joining the Phoenix Mercury after leaving the Connecticut Sun, Thomas has delivered the best performance of her career. Over 13 games this season, she has averaged 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 9.4 assists, leading the league in assists while ranking second in scoring for her team. At 33 years old, Thomas will be representing Phoenix alongside her teammate Satou Saberry.

Together, Thomas and Saberry have made history as the Mercury’s co-stars both earned All-Star selections, marking the 15th occasion that Phoenix has had multiple All-Stars in a single season. The Mercury organization celebrated this achievement with custom jackets and bouquets to honor the duo.

Despite the departure of Diana Taurasi, who retired after the 2024 season, the Mercury have remained strong contributors to the league thanks to Saberry and Thomas. Their leadership helped guide the Mercury to a 12-6 record, securing second place in the Western Conference. Thomas’ signing is widely seen as one of the best offseason moves, keeping Phoenix competitive amid significant roster changes.

Fan Take: This announcement is a thrilling moment for WNBA fans, showcasing the depth of talent in the league and the continued rise of Phoenix Mercury as a powerhouse. Alyssa Thomas’s stellar play and All-Star recognition highlight the growing competitiveness and star power in women’s basketball, promising even greater excitement for the sport’s future.
