Colin Morakawa on Monday tapped longtime veteran caddy Billy Foster into his bag over the next two weeks as the PGA Tour moved into the link golf portion of the calendar at the 2025 Scotland Open and the Open Championship at the Royal Portrush. Two-time major champion Morikawa is looking for a full-time caddy when he split up in April with JJ Jakovac, the only bid in his career.

Foster has been confirmed bunker As Morikawa continues searching for permanent exchanges, the work arrangements will only last two weeks. After breaking up with Jakovac, Morikawa took advantage of Joe Greiner for a short time and had his former California teammate KK Limbhasut carry his bag for a week.

Foster enjoys a legendary 43-year career, including over 40 wins as a looper with notable players such as Seve Ballesteros, Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood. He also works with Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia.

Foster recently rode a bag from 2022 US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, and the two went their separate ways early this spring. He previously announced in January that he was about to tapered his bag job, telling Golfweek that “I missed a lot of my life.”

Foster is now intervening as Morikawa’s third new caddy this year alone, following his split with Jacovac. Given his experience, tapping him for Renaissance Club and Royal Portrush should give Morikawa an edge that he doesn’t have with a less seasonal caddy.

Griner, who won Justin Thomas’ bag to win earlier this year to win the RBC legacy, was thought to be able to do well after his long-standing partnership with Max Houma. He wasn’t, he continued to do just five tournaments. Lynn Brust always seemed like a temporary solution, but he helped him finish the T8 of six PGA Tour winners in his first top-10 finish as a player in March.

“I think Joe is a great caddy, but I think we just got to a bit of a different page about how we saw things or how we did it,” Morakawa said in Rocket Classic. “It doesn’t mean it’s right or wrong, but for me it didn’t feel right. You have to explore other options. I knew it was coming.”
