Ricky Hatton, with a record of 45 wins, 3 losses, and 32 knockouts, revealed on Sunday that he will come out of retirement for a fight this December, marking 13 years since his last professional bout. The 46-year-old former world champion, who was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame last year, is set to compete against UAE’s Aisalda, who has an 8-3 record with 4 knockouts, in a middleweight match scheduled for December 2nd in Dubai.

Representing Manchester, England, Hatton announced the fight during a live-streamed promotional event hosted by Al Da. “I wish I was there, but I had a bit of a bad injury to my eyes,” Hatton said. “The main thing is that the fight will take place. I can’t wait. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Hatton’s last professional bout ended in knockout losses to Vyacheslav Senchenko in 2012. Throughout his career, Hatton achieved major victories over fighters like Jose Luis Castillo and Luis Colaz, but also suffered well-known defeats against Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Additionally, he participated in an exhibition fight against Marco Antonio Barrera in 2022. The organizers confirmed that Hatton’s comeback will be a professional match. Aisalda, aged 46, last fought in 2021, losing by knockout to Pedro Alejandro Delgado.

Fan Take: Ricky Hatton’s return is thrilling news for fight enthusiasts, as it brings a legendary figure back into the ring, sparking excitement and nostalgia. This fight could also inspire other retired fighters to reconsider their careers, potentially adding more dynamic matchups to the sport.
