Kate Linklark Shares Exciting Insights About Her Fever Future

Kate Linklark made a surprising remark about her future with the Indiana Fever, as originally reported by Athlon Sports.

Caitlin Clark was chosen as the number one overall pick by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Since then, she has become a must-watch player for fans not only in Indiana but globally.

Clark’s passing skills are top-notch, averaging high assists per game and shooting at a 39.0% clip, setting her apart from the competition.

In her rookie season, she earned Rookie of the Year honors, led the league in assists, made the WNBA first team, and received two All-Star selections.

Though only at the beginning of her 23-year-old career, most envision her continuing with the Fever. During an open scrimmage for MVP season ticket holders, followed by a panel Q&A, Clark was asked how playing in Indianapolis feels.

Instead of committing long-term or talking about retirement with the Fever, she said she just “wants to play here for a few more years.”

Clark explained, “I’m from the Midwest, so Indiana was one of my top choices out of college. Adjusting here was easy, the fans are great, and I love playing here with my amazing teammates.”

Just a month ago, Clark expressed a desire to end her career with the Fever, stating to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburn that both she and Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton hope to continue their careers in Indiana.

Despite her June comments, when Clark mentioned “a few more years,” fans reacted with surprise and cheers of “A lot more!”

This story was first reported by Athlon Sports on July 8, 2025.

Fan Take: Clark’s evolving outlook on her tenure with the Fever highlights the ongoing excitement and uncertainty that surrounds rising WNBA stars. For fans and the league, her potential long-term commitment could signal an era of stability and growth for the Fever franchise and the sport as a whole.
