World No. 4 Jasmine Paolini fired manager Mark Lopez a few days after his second exit from Wimbledon.

Parini, who became the first Italian woman to reach the Wimbledon final during her opening days last year, lost 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 to Russia’s Camilla Lakimova last week.

The 29-year-old began working with Lopez in April after finishing a decade-long partnership with Renzolan.

Under the guidance of former Doubles World 3 Lopez, who was once part of Rafael Nadal’s coaching team, Paolini won the second WTA 1000 level crown at the Italian Open, lifting the women’s doubles title at the French Open.

“We’ve had some great results together, especially in Rome and Paris,” Parini wrote on social media on Monday. “I am grateful for all the effort and energy that Mark gave me every day.

“With this part of this season, I decided to make a difference.

“I’ve learned a lot and made good progress, and now I’m taking the time to look back at what my next step is. Thank you, Mark.”
