Manchester United have now begun discussions to sign Atalanta midfielder Edson dos Santos during the summer transfer period.

According to a report from Goal Brazil, they have launched a move to sign the 26-year-old central midfielder, which costs him around £52 million. The players have also been linked to Premier League clubs in the past. The report claims that Arsenal and Chelsea were interested in him last summer.

Premier League movements are ideal

He has established himself as a key player for the Italian club and is trying to prove himself at the highest level. The opportunity to move to Manchester United is extremely exciting for him. They were one of the largest clubs in the world and were able to provide him with a platform to fight for future trophies.

British regular football was able to bring out the best of him and help him realize his potential. The reported price is very steep for the player, but he has all the attributes to develop into a complete central midfielder. He helps defensively, calms down and adds creativity to the side.

With the World Cup next year, he is trying to establish himself as an essential asset for the national team. British regular football can help him do it.

Manchester United need more quality in the middle of the park and have the resources to pay Brazilians £52 million. It will be interesting to see if they can close the move right away.
