Cowboys’ Dak Prescott Aims to Be “Full Go” for Training Camp Following Hamstring Tears

Dak Prescott is optimistic about being ready to practice when the Dallas Cowboys start training camp on July 22, as he recovers from a torn hamstring. “I’m healthy,” Prescott assured at a football camp in South Lake, Texas. “I’m definitely going to camp. I’m healthy. I’ll probably get an official clearance soon, likely from the medical reports, but I’m good to go.”

The 32-year-old Prescott, who celebrated his 29th birthday in July, injured himself in week 9 and had to undergo surgery on November 13th, ending his season early. Before the injury, he had accumulated 1,978 passing yards and 11 touchdowns, but also threw eight interceptions, with six occurring in his last four games.

As Prescott gets back on the field and resumes his regular play, he does so under the guidance of new head coach Brian Schottenheimer and with a fresh receiving option in wide receiver George Pickens. Prescott mentioned he doesn’t expect much time to build on-field chemistry with Pickens, as he previously had to get up to speed with former Cowboys receivers Amari Cooper and Brandin Cooks.

“Just watch that guy’s highlights,” Prescott said about Pickens. “He’s creating separation, even when he doesn’t have the ball. And when he’s not separating, he’s still making catches. For me, my job is to get the ball close to him.”

Fan Take: Prescott’s return is a huge boost for the Cowboys, and integrating a talent like Pickens could add exciting dynamics to their offense. NFL fans should watch closely, as this combination has the potential to elevate the Cowboys’ performance and bring fresh energy to the league.
