The Open Championships have been held in 14 different courses across the UK throughout its 153 years of history. All courses are located in either England or Scotland except one, and its only Northern Ireland course will host the 2025 Open Championship. Royal Portrush’s Dunluce Links won this year’s event on Thursday, July 17th and when the event last took place at the 2019 Royal Portrush, the native of the Republic of Ireland is one of the 2025 Open Championship long shots at +2100.

The bet’s favorite is Scotty Scheffler, who has won three times in his final six starts but seeks his first victory at the open. Scheffler is the +380 favorite, according to the latest 2025 Open Championship Odds at Fanduel, followed by Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy (+750). Jon Rahm is +1200, followed by a trio of Bryson Dechambeau (+2000), Tommy Fleetwood and Defending Champion’s Xander Schauffele. Before you lock yourself into the 2025 Open Championship Pick, make sure to check out the golf predictions and expected leaderboards from the Sportsline’s proven computer models.

The Sportsline’s proprietary model, built by DFS Pro Mike McClure, has been red hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model has surpassed $8,500 on its best bet since its post-tournament reboot.

This same model nailed a whopping 15 majors over the weekend, including the 2025 Master (the fourth Master) and the 2025 PGA Championship. Anyone who followed the sports bet pick has seen massive returns Bet Site. New users will have the opportunity to use the latest Fanduel Promo Code, Draftkings Promo Code, and Fanatics Sportsbook Promo Code.

Now that the 2025 Open Championship field has been locked, Sportsline has simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were astounding. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

Predictions for the 2025 Open Championship

This model is one of the great surprises we are looking for at the 2025 Open Championship. Five-time major champion and one of the top favorites, Rory McIlroy tripped over the top five and barely cracked. McIlroy won the Open in 2014, but missed a cut a year ago at his final Open Championship start. He also missed the cut on his only other visit to the Royal Portrush that came at the 2019 British Open.

Since completing his career grand slam with the Masters earlier this year, McIlroy’s form has not maintained his pace throughout the subsequent major start or PGA Tour. He finished 47th in the PGA Championship and 19th in the US Open, marking his second time over the past decades. He’s not a strong choice to win it all, and the 2025 Open Championship field has far better value. Look at the others fade here.

Another surprise: Justin Thomas, a long shot at 47-1, runs strong in the title. He is the target of anyone looking for a huge payday, as he has a much better chance than his odds imply. Thomas was the 29th golfer in the tournament last year, and is now fourth in the official world golf rankings. He secured his 16th victory at the signature event, RBC Heritage, with a total of seven top-10 finishes, including three runner-ups.

The British Open was Thomas’ toughest major, but he performed brilliantly on his previous trip to Royal Portrush, finishing 11th in the 2019 Open Championship. He enters the 2025 Open Championship, which leads the PGA Tour on both average and birdie averages, and the latter is important as the latter is usually difficult to come in this major championship. In addition to his overall form, his long odds make Thomas a valuable long shot to include in his 2025 Open Championship bet. See who else you choose here.

How to create an Open Championship Pick for 2025

The model targets three other golfers with odds of 22-1 or higher with strong running in the title. Anyone who supports these long shots can hit it big. Here you can only see the model picks.

Who will win the 2025 Open Championship and which long shots will surprise the world of golf? Check out the 2025 Open Championship odds below, then head over to the Sportsline to see the predicted leaderboard from a model that nailed 15 golf majors, including the last four masters.
