Fenerbahce is in serious discussions to sign Marco Asensio, the forward from Paris Saint-Germain, according to sources from ESPN.
The Spanish international, who recently signed a contract with Parc des Princes, has reportedly agreed to join the Turkish Super Lig team managed by Jose Mourinho.
The two clubs are nearing a permanent transfer agreement for Asensio to Fenerbahce.
Asensio, 29, spent the latter part of last season on loan at Aston Villa, where he netted three goals in 13 appearances in the Premier League.
Having won the Champions League three times with Real Madrid, he has scored seven goals in 47 matches with PSG since joining from Madrid in the summer of 2023.
Fan Take: This news is significant as it could enhance Fenerbahce’s competitive edge in Turkish football and re-establish Asensio as a key player following his time at PSG. For soccer fans, the move underscores the dynamic nature of player transfers and the potential for stars to shine in new leagues.
