Tottenham’s move to sign English midfielder Morgan Gibbs White is now out of line as Nottingham Forest looks take legal action over the contract.
According to Sky Sports, Forest appears to be unhappy with how the Spurs approached the deal and is being cancelled for the time being.
See below as Tottenham appears to have been hit hard by their bid to sign the talented 25-year-old who was Forest’s star performer last season…
Sky’s claims Forest’s touch made an illegal approach for Gibbs White and was not given permission to speak to him.
It will be interesting to see how this develops, but for now it’s the bad news that it was certainly a great signature for THFC.
Gibbs White was impressed in the Premier League last season and looks like someone who can take the next step in his career.
All new managers and new signatures have been changed this summer at Tottenham
Last season was a bit of a disaster for Tottenham, even if they were to beat Manchester United in the Europa League final.
It wasn’t enough to keep Anges Postcoglu in work yet, but the North Londoners finished 17th in the Premier League table.
This is just first place above the relegation zone, with the team losing 22 times, conceding a total of 65 goals.
Thomas Frank has now arrived to take over manager from Brentford, but Mohammed Kudus has been confirmed as a signature from West Ham.
If they can put Gibbs White in it, it certainly falls as a great business, but we have to see how this dispute with the forest was resolved.
Neither club has commented on the situation so far, but this will certainly continue to be vigilant in the coming days and weeks.
