Aliya Boston Shows True Emotion Following a Dominant Win Over Fever’s Wings

The Indiana Fever enjoyed their second straight win on Sunday, edging out the Dallas Wings 102-83 at Gainbridge Field House during a crucial five-game homestand. The Fever dominated the second quarter with an impressive 36-15 run, establishing a 22-point lead by halftime that they maintained throughout the game.

Indiana showcased a well-rounded offensive effort with five players reaching double figures: Kelsey Mitchell led with 20 points, followed by Natasha Howard with 18, Aliya Boston with 17, Caitlyn Clark with 14, and Sophie Cunningham with 13. However, it was Aliya Boston’s post-game celebration—a spirited “bow bow!” in the tunnel—that really caught eyes and was shared widely by the WNBA on X.

Boston, Indiana’s top pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft and unanimous Rookie of the Year, started her third season with an even bigger impact. She’s improved her stats to average 16.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists over 21 games and earned her third selection to the WNBA All-Star Game on June 30. After a challenging start to the season, Indiana (11-10) has found steady consistency, especially with Boston’s presence in the paint.

As they build momentum, the Fever are gearing up for a challenging stretch of away games, including back-to-back confrontations with the defending champions, the New York Liberty.

Fan Take: Aliya Boston’s growth and Indiana’s strong team effort highlight the rising talent and competitive depth within the WNBA. This kind of promising young star and dynamic team performance bodes well for increasing fan excitement and the sport’s growing prominence.
