Bringing the Wimbledon trophy home is a dream for every tennis player, and that trophy brings a lot of money. Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek won the Grand Prize for their respective single championship wins, but overall, the 2025 tournament saw an 8% increase in total prize money from last year’s tournament.

Payments in the tennis tournament are determined by the round competitor reach before elimination or before winning the championship. Going out in the opening round of 128 means running away for $90,744, but with at least one win guarantee, such as $136,117. This makes it important for the men and women that all matches are involved.

Thinner beat Carlos Alcaraz to win the men’s singles title on Sunday. Alcaraz and Thinner, who won the previous Wimbledon Championship, played their best ever match in the French Open Final last month, with the Spaniard winning with an epic five-setter. This time, the Sinner won revenge with a thrilling 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, and 6-4 victory, moving forward with their rivalry.

Iga Swiatek made history in the women’s final on Saturday, abandoning the game to American Amanda Anisimova to win her first Wimbledon title, 6-0, 6-0. In doing so, Swiatek earned a massive $4.1 million payday. Although it is difficult for Anisimova to deal with, she can get some comfort in the $2 million she gets to reach the tournament final.
