Sunderland had a very good summer transfer window up until now, but things could soon get better on the newly promoted side.
Enzo Le Fee, Habib Diarra, Noah Sadiki, Reinildo Mandava, Chemsdine Talbi and Simon Adringa have already jumped into the Stadium of Light and much more. The majority of these players are from Africa and it has been pointed out that this could cause problems when the African Cup of Nations takes place in the winter, but the club is not blocked.
And that is shown to the latest players they are interested in.
Sunderland registers interest in Bilal El Cannas
According to L’Equipe (via Sunderland Echo), Sunderland is interested in signing Bilal El Khannouss. The Moroccan playmaker was impressed with the relegation to Leicester last season. His reward may be to remain in the Premier League.
Elcannas, who registered three goals and five assists during the 2024-25 campaign, had previously attracted interest from Arsenal, but he was now ready for a move to Sunderland. However, there is a competition from League One side as Monaco. Monaco was able to make it difficult for the Northeast club to acquire men.
El Cannas is an excellent signature for Sunderland, with only one season in his Premier League experience worth it.
It remains to be seen whether Sunderland’s interest in El Cannoux will lead to concrete attempts to sign him. It would be surprising that he stayed in Leicester during the 2025-26 season. So, trades may occur before the summer transfer window closes at the beginning of September.
