Colwill of Chelsea Declares: CWC Overshadows UCL in Prestige!

Levi Colwill of Chelsea has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to clinch the Premier League and Champions League titles following their triumph in the Club World Cup.

In the final held in New Jersey on Sunday, Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0, with goals from Joe On Pedro sealing the victory for Cole Palmer and Enzo Maresca.

Colwill noted that the team is eager to build on this achievement as world champions.

“At the beginning of this tournament, I said our goal was to win it, and many thought I was unrealistic,” Colwill reflected. “I will echo that sentiment as we prepare for the Premier League and Champions League.”

“This is the most significant trophy I’ve ever won. In my view, the Club World Cup holds more weight than the Champions League, as we are the first team to achieve this feat.”

While criticisms have been directed at the newly formatted 32-team tournament in the U.S. for its low attendance and tough weather conditions, Colwill believes this victory could be a foundation for future successes at Stamford Bridge.

“This victory is a strong statement, and if we keep winning, we’ll earn the recognition we deserve,” Colwill said, emphasizing the uncertainty of future results. “We feel ready, and it will be essential for the upcoming season.”

Colwill acknowledged the mixed reactions to Chelsea’s transfer approach since Todd Boley’s arrival as co-owner in 2022. However, he is confident in the team’s potential to consistently achieve trophy glory.

“We are a collective unit, which is part of Chelsea’s heritage. We will remain united through any challenges,” Colwill affirmed. “Players like John Terry, Frank Lampard, and Didier Drogba have paved the way, and we are continuing that legacy.”

“These were all fantastic players who secured numerous titles, and we have exceptional talent on our squad, especially among our younger players. Our plan is to win Chelsea’s most prestigious trophies.”

“I believe we demonstrated that capability against PSG, who many claimed was the best team, yet we won 3-0.”

Chelsea is set to kick off their Premier League campaign less than a month from now, facing Crystal Palace on August 17th.
