Marc Marquez Shines Spotlight on MotoGP Rivals: “Consistently Lightning Fast Across Every Race”

Marco Bezzecchi’s impressive speed at the MotoGP Germany Grand Prix earned praise from Ducati teammates Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia. As an Aprilia rider, Bezzecchi is facing a steep learning curve in 2025 but has already taken the lead in developing the RS-GP, largely due to the extended absence of his world champion teammate Jorge Martin.

Bezzecchi’s adaptation to the Aprilia bike has progressed significantly this season. He secured victory at the British Grand Prix in late May and then achieved a double podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix a few races later. At the German Grand Prix, Bezzecchi was on track for another podium finish, holding third place until Fabio Di Giannantonio moved up to second before crashing on lap 18. Shortly after, Bezzecchi also crashed but managed to retreat safely to avoid a similar incident.

In a behind-the-scenes MotoGP video after the German Grand Prix, race winner Marc Marquez and third-place finisher Pecco Bagnaia praised Bezzecchi’s performance. Bagnaia noted that Bezzecchi was the only top rider not riding a Ducati, with Marquez agreeing. Bagnaia remarked that since the Jerez test, and later the Aragon test, Bezzecchi made significant progress—especially notable as the Aragon test focused on time attack trim.

Earlier in the season, Bezzecchi struggled to find stability with the RS-GP on soft rear tires, with his best qualifying spot being seventh at the British Grand Prix, where he ultimately won the race. After the Aragon test, he improved to fifth place at the Dutch Grand Prix and third in the wet conditions at the German Grand Prix.

Heading into the Czech Grand Prix this weekend, Bezzecchi leads as the top non-Ducati rider in the championship, sitting sixth with 130 points. The next best Aprilia rider, rookie Ivo Lopez, ranks 14th with 49 points.

Fan Take: Bezzecchi’s rapid progress and strong performances highlight the growing competitiveness of non-Ducati bikes in MotoGP, which could lead to more diverse race winners and an exciting, unpredictable season. His development also signals that Aprilia is becoming a serious contender, adding fresh dynamics to the championship battle that fans love to watch.
