Championship team Derby County has officially acquired American striker Patrick Agyemang from Charlotte FC, as announced by both clubs on Tuesday.
The transfer fee is approximately $7 million, with reports from ESPN originating back in June.
The 24-year-old Agyemang recently ranked second in the 2025 Gold Cup, making six appearances during the tournament.
In his third season with MLS’s Charlotte, Agyemang netted six goals and provided one assist across 16 matches in 2025.
This addition to the squad could help Derby County improve upon their 19th place finish last season, as they were just a point above the relegation zone.
The arrival of Agyemang could significantly energize Derby County’s offense, making them a more competitive side in the Championship. For soccer fans, this move not only enhances Derby’s lineup but also highlights the growing impact of American players in international leagues.
