  • Lewis Diaz opens to the exit, but Liverpool doesn’t want to sell
  • Bavaria and Barcelona will need to grow or go home
    • The pursuit of Bayern’s Nick Urtemaid is beneficial

Liverpool will not say goodbye to Louis Diaz this summer despite ongoing pressure from Bayern Munich.

This follows a report from Athletic confirming that the Bayerns have submitted a £58.6 million opening bid for Colombia’s signature.

The Bundesliga champions are keen to strengthen the left side of their forward line after Leroy Sain set off on a free transfer to Galatasarei.

Athletics confirm the report CF Bayern Insider Diaz has accepted a move to Munich this summer.

Of course, the willingness to explore new meadows does not necessarily mean that the player and his aides will move heaven and earth to make it happen.

Our understanding on CatedOffside understands that the winger on the left remains happy in Merseyside. Ideally, however, Lewis Diaz’s camp would like to see the quality of his performance reflected in his new contract offer.

Ultimately, Liverpool can afford to sit on the fence a little longer, considering their 28-year-old contract hasn’t disappeared until the summer of 2027.

Bavaria and Barcelona will need to grow or go home

The fact in question is that it is financially unwise to allow players to sell with only a small profit of £8.6 million at the table.

King Dominic of the Daily Mail correctly claimed on X (formerly Twitter) this afternoon after the Reds rejected Bayern Munich’s bid.

To be fair to Liverpool, they were always pretty clear about how they expect suitors to approach their top assets. Unless their contract is nearing danger to expiration date, clubs will want to see a clear return on investment.

Even more so, given Liverpool made it clear that the wingers weren’t on sale this summer.

Athletic reporter James Pierce suggested that the £80 million fee would be difficult to ignore. However, given the serious headache, this would leave the Merseysiders recruiting team given the ongoing need to sign strikers.

The pursuit of Bayern’s Nick Urtemaid is beneficial

Bayern’s ongoing testing of waters around Nick Woltemade at VFB Stuttgart suggests that the German champions do not have the funds to pursue both top targets.

Simply put, until further consideration of player sales can be considered, Vincent Kompany men need to solidify their interest in one potential signature.

Both Stuttgart and Liverpool are clearly solid in terms of their respective prices. It is unlikely to change despite the personal wishes of both forwards.

It’s time for Bavaria to put money in the place where it has its mouth.
