Newcastle is looking to have many signatures this summer as they aim to strengthen their team before returning to the Champions League. The middle part is one area that will be addressed, especially as Sean Longstaff is set to join Leeds.

Many targets have been seen by Newcastle, but the most prominent thing at this stage is Connor Gallagher. The former Chelsea midfielder, currently playing for Atletico Madrid, is set to return to the Premier League after only having one season in Spain.

According to soccer insiders, Gallagher is interested in joining Newcastle. Because it meets the need to return to England.

“Gallager is very interested in returning to England. Everything is equal. If he has the opportunity to join Newcastle this summer, I think he will. He is very much appreciated him there and doesn’t seem to appreciate him the same way the manager brings him.

“So from what I’ve heard, the opportunity to return to the Premier League is certainly appealing. But it depends on these clubs willing to pay him. I can’t imagine it would be a cheap deal in a year with the club.

“At this point, if he’s staying in Spain or returning to the Premier League, either way, wouldn’t be surprised if he’s with either.”

Gallagher is an excellent addition to Newcastle’s midfield options, where he competes with Sandrotonari, Bruno Gimaras, Jorington and Jo Willock. For now, it remains to be seen whether or not they will make any concrete moves to sign the 25-year-old.
