The Wolves have finalized a deal with Fluminense to acquire Colombian winger Jhon Arias, according to sources at ESPN.

The Brazilian team will receive €22 million (£25.5 million) for 90% of Arias’ sporting rights, keeping a priority clause should they decide to retain the remaining 10% of his rights or if he wishes to return to Brazil in the future.

Arias, 27, participated in all six matches of Fluminense’s Club World Cup campaign this summer, netting one goal and assisting on another.

Since his arrival at the club in August 2021, he has tallied 47 goals and 55 assists across 229 matches for Fluminense.

As the victor of the 2023 Copa Libertadores, Arias is set to play his final match for Fluminense against Cruzeiro at the Maracanã on July 17.

Fan Take: This transfer signifies an important step for Wolves as they strengthen their squad with a talented winger. For soccer fans, especially in the Premier League, Arias’s arrival could bring exciting new dynamics to the field, showcasing the growth of talent from South American leagues.
