Leicester will need to make changes to his team ahead of his life at the championships that will be held next month. And one of those changes could involve Connor Cody, a candidate who will leave this summer.

Coady, who made 26 appearances last season, has been an important player for Leicester since he arrived from the Wolf two years ago. But he was now able to identify the next move in his dream and be set to move on.

According to Daily Records (via Leicester’s Fox), Cody, who has been linked to her return to wolves in recent weeks, hopes to join the Rangers this summer. The 32-year-old reportedly asked not to be included in Leicester’s preseason tour, hoping to move to Glasgow, where he plays under Russell Martin.

Coady’s situation must be assessed by new Leicester Manager Marti Cifuentes. MartiCifuentes was recently appointed. It’s not clear whether he’s relying on a veteran defender for the 2025-26 season, but if not, a deal with the Ranger could be on his card.

Leicester got things right when they were last in the championship, and their plan is to protect as many players as possible from last season. However, given that Coady wants to leave, the club boss is unlikely to get in his way, especially as he is unlikely to become a very important player for the Cifuentes.

It is still unclear whether Leicester has allowed Cody to leave this summer, but if that were the case, they would want to make sure that an acceptable deal with the Ranger is achieved. They aim to build a team that can return to the Premier League in 2026, so they will need money to secure alternatives.
