Real Madrid is eager to resume hosting concerts at the Santiago Bernabeu as it wraps up construction on the revamped stadium this year. The club has reported a record revenue of €1.185 billion.

The Madrid board shared financial insights on Thursday following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.

With the renovation of the Bernabéu nearing its end after six years of work, one challenge was the suspension of concerts due to a noise complaint from a nearby resident last year.

“The final phases of the stadium’s upgrade will occur during the fiscal year 2025/26,” Madrid mentioned in a statement regarding their financial report on Thursday.

“Given the approved conditions, the club is looking forward to increased revenue from VIP seating, Real Madrid experiences, and additional marketing initiatives, including hosting NFL games at the stadium.”

All concerts scheduled for the Bernabeu in September 2024 have been postponed, although the venue has hosted several events, including performances by Taylor Swift.

The reported revenue of €1.185 billion, a 10% increase from 2023-24, makes Real Madrid the first football club to achieve over €1 billion in annual revenue, with profits rising to €24.3 million from €15.6 million the previous year.

The club also noted a cash reserve of €166 million, up from €82 million in the previous fiscal year.

These figures do not reflect Real Madrid’s spending on the comprehensive Bernabeu redevelopment, which the club reports separately.

As of June 30, 2025, the total expenditure on the project was €1.347 billion, nearing the final amount of the investment.

The remaining balance of Real Madrid’s loans stands at €1.132 billion, which were taken out to finance the stadium upgrades, according to the club.

Fan Take: This news is significant for soccer enthusiasts as it highlights Real Madrid’s innovative approach to enhancing matchday experiences, potentially attracting more fans and resources. The financial success of the club not only solidifies its position in the sport but also sets a precedent for other teams to follow, emphasizing the importance of stadium development in modern football.
