On Thursday, Major League Soccer announced that renowned YouTuber and media figure Ishowspeed will participate in the All-Star Skills Challenge, taking place at Stadium 2 in Austin, Texas, on Tuesday, July 22nd.
Ishowspeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., gained fame in his teenage years by creating football-related content and live streaming, amassing an impressive 42.5 million subscribers on YouTube. He was recognized as Streamer of the Year and Best International Streamer during the 2024 Streamer Awards.
Regarding the All-Star Game slated for Wednesday, July 23rd, Inter Miami’s head coach Javier Mascherano provided insight on whether stars Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba will play.
"The players have the option to rest, but that decision isn’t mine," he stated on Friday. "I understand how significant the All-Star games are, and as far as I know, the club hasn’t made any decisions yet."
Both Messi and Alba, former teammates from Barcelona in LaLiga, are currently in their third season with Inter Miami.
