Scotty Schaeffler’s domination over the world of golf continued on Sunday at Royal Portrush as the world’s No. 1 won his fourth career major and first open championship in a four-shot victory in Northern Ireland. With the victory, Schaeffler is now a US open title and moves away from becoming the seventh player. Career Grand Slamjoined Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen.

McIlroy is famous for taking 11 years to complete the Grand Slam. McIlroy’s pursuit of the green jacket has been the most painful pursuit to see in golf in the last decade, and the demons certainly violated after the playoff putt fell to Augusta National.

Schaeffler aims to wrap his pursuit faster, and he Suitable equipment for treating pressure It comes with the history of chasing it. His first chance at the Grand Slam is expected to arrive at the Sinnecock Hills next June. This is when the US Open returned to the iconic Long Island course for the first time since Brooks Coepka won in 2018.

Scheffler is currently a favorite (+320) that wins the 2026 US Open Trophy and completes a Grand Slam with each Draftkings Sportsbook. And for those seeking the universe’s indication that Scotty actually makes history that week, next year’s US Open Final Round Sunday will happen to be Schaeffler’s 30th birthday, June 21, 2026.

Win there and Schaeffler pushes the list of all time greats even further. He’s already knocking on the top ten doors, but he needs a few more major titles to get there. Participating in a career Grand Slam Club – especially on the day he turns 30, is a fast track to become a golf legend.

Grand Slams prove the authenticity of players as golfers who can conquer all kinds of tests. Winning the Open showed Schaeffler could summon his A-game on the Links course. This was the weakest major effort of his career. Of course, the warning there is that Schaeffler still has two top ten open and never missed a cut.

He hasn’t won the US Open yet, but the tournament was very good for Schaeffler, who has four top 10 in the final five starts, including a runner-up in 2022 and a third-place finish in 2023.

The only question is whether Schaeffler can capture the Grand Slam before it becomes a burden like McIlroy. A particularly happy 30th birthday celebration is simply putting proverb cake on ice.
