  • Will Darwinnes be able to stay in Liverpool this summer?
  • Nunez could be a useful backup for Hugo Ekitike
    • Nunes hasn’t given up on his Premier League career

Darwinnes’ latest, impressive display in the preseason will only help his chances with the possibility of extending Liverpool’s career.

Uruguayan International would have made a prominent impression on Anfield’s decision makers after registering the club’s latest preseason friendly, first half hat trick.

Rio ngumoha and Federico Chiesa were the other scorers who beat Stoke 5-0 in a back collision that closed before the club fired towards Japan.

The exit from Liverpool is not a guarantee for Nunes, despite reporting an attempt to sell the Reds’ previous striker to Napoli.

In the end, the Reds were solid and steady, loyal to the price, and the deal in question fell apart.

This presents new concerns to the Arne Slot man. Who will be able to sell No. 9 this summer?

Saudi Arabia has often been turned over as a potential suitor for Darwin Nunes. In particular, Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr are clear admirers, according to agents who spoke with connections in Saudi Arabia’s professional league clubs.

AC Milan and Barcelona are similarly considered worshipers of Uruguay International. However, there will definitely be serious concerns about the ability to dress to meet Liverpool’s financial needs.

Nunez could be a useful backup for Hugo Ekitike

It remains to be seen whether the Reds have a real plan to improve their 26-year-old in the current summer transfer period.

Newcastle’s interest in Alexander Isaac has not changed, similar to Magpie’s “unsold” attitude. However, the club is set to diverge numbers around the Hugo Ekitike £69 million mark, which raises doubts as to whether Liverpool will start blowing the Swedes another £120 million or so.

After all, the team has other clear priorities. In particular, Louis Diaz will need to complete a potential move to Bayern Munich.

In the meantime, Ekitike is hopeful that Arne Slot’s First-Coice Striker will be participating in the 2024/25 campaign.

Based on that, and even considering Nunes’ struggle before goals last year, the former Benfica hitman remains a viable alternative.

Nunes hasn’t given up on his Premier League career

It should be emphasized that the positive displays for Preston North End and Stoke City do not necessarily indicate that the Newnes are ready to drop more than 20 goals in the Premier League.

Plus, seeing Liverpool’s price tag fill before the windows close on September 1st gives the footballer a chance to bring time to his Anfield career.

But assuming the centre still has an opportunity to play a role in Liverpool’s 2025/26 campaign, his latest pre-season display is one thing for commentators.

Darwin Nunes lacks motivation and fighting. Perhaps enough to convince the suitor to punt his service. Perhaps he will tell head coach Arne Slot that his race against Liverpool has not yet been run.
