Former UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones addressed questions about his “Plan B” concerning his anticipated return to the Octagon. Jones surprised the MMA community last month by announcing his retirement after prolonged negotiations with the UFC. Subsequently, he was stripped of the undisputed heavyweight title, with Tom Aspinall being named the new champion.

Shortly after retiring, Jones revealed plans to make a comeback in 2026 following former President Donald Trump’s announcement about the UFC hosting an event on the White House lawn. However, his comeback faced setbacks when UFC CEO Dana White excluded Jones from headlining upcoming events. The prospect of a White House fight initially motivated Jones to prepare for competition after his UFC 309 win over Stipe Miocic, but White’s recent statements have left his comeback plans uncertain. Meanwhile, Jones watched UFC 318, where veteran Dustin Poirier retired after losing to Max Holloway. Jones congratulated Poirier on his career via social media, though some fans criticized Jones’ message. Despite the negative reactions, Jones appeared unfazed by fan backlash.
