Scotty Schaeffler finished 17 under to win his 153rd Open Championship, his first open title, his second major and his fourth major. Schaeffler took a four-shot lead earlier in the day and kept it, beating Harris English by four.

Chris Gottap finished three weeks after winning the Scotland Open. The family’s favorite, Rory McIlroy, has finished the T-7.

Schaeffler still controls through the 9

Schaeffler has a five-shot lead midway through the final round of the Open Championship. He bouncing off a birdie on No. 9 after a double bogey on No. 8. Chris Gottap is currently second.
