Congratulations to WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu for being featured in Athlon Sports. Sabrina Ionescu, the standout player from the New York Liberty, has once again proven herself as the top shooter in the WNBA, holding two three-point contest titles.

In 2023, Ionescu reclaimed her title by defeating Atlanta Dream guard Alisha Gray in the final round of the 2025 three-point contest. Ionescu scored 30 points in the final, including an impressive streak of 11 consecutive successful shots. The 27-year-old sharpshooter also made two star balls worth three points each. Meanwhile, Gray, the previous year’s champion, scored 22 points in the final.

Following her victory, Ionescu received widespread praise. The WNBA celebrated her win with the message, “Champion once more,” and highlighted that she now holds two @StarryLemonlime three-point contest titles. The NBA and fans also extended their congratulations, with some fans referring to her as the “Three Point Queen.”

As a reward for her win, Ionescu earned $62,575—$60,000 from WNBA insurance partners and sponsors AFLAC, and $2,575 from the league per the collective bargaining agreement. Adding to the Liberty’s success, teammate Natasha Cloud won the skill challenge and took home $57,575, marking back-to-back victories and cementing the Liberty’s dominant performance in the WNBA All-Star Saturday event.
