Despite being halfway across the globe for their preseason tour in Asia, Arsenal has officially unveiled their away kit for the 2025-26 season.

The team is set to play exhibition matches against AC Milan, Newcastle, and long-standing rivals Tottenham in Singapore, where they will sport their new away strip, first hinted at through a somewhat cryptic Instagram post over the weekend.

Staying true to their heritage, this new kit takes cues from the classic 1995-96 “Lightning Strike” away design, featuring a similar dark blue base with vibrant jagged graphics.

Similar to the renowned 1991-93 “Bruised Banana” away kit, Arsenal continues to draw inspiration from the classic Lightning Jersey, with the 2021-22 Navy and Teal Zigzag third kit serving as another example of this homage.

The lightning theme originates from the coat of arms on the façade of the Royal Arsenal Gate House Building in Woolwich, southeast London, dating back to the founding of the club by munitions workers who formed a soccer team about 60 years prior in 1828.

Unlike the original matte turquoise of the 1990s, this modern rendition features a two-tone “bolt” design that adds a metallic sheen to the shirt.

The Gunners will debut their new away kit on the pitch for the first time on July 23 during their match against Milan at Singapore’s National Stadium.

**Fan Take:** This news is significant as it showcases how clubs like Arsenal honor their storied histories while also evolving their identity. The blend of nostalgia and modernity in their kits not only excites fans but also strengthens the connection between the club and its legacy, reinforcing why soccer is more than just a game – it’s a part of cultural heritage.
