Luis Diaz is eager to depart Liverpool in the upcoming summer transfer window, with hopes that Bayern Munich will present new offers to sway the British club in the near future, according to sources cited by ESPN.

Last week, Liverpool turned down a bid of €67.5 million ($78.6 million) from the German club, but has indicated to ESPN that they are preparing a revised proposal that includes additional incentives alongside an offer of around €70 million.

Diaz had a standout year, scoring 17 goals and helping Liverpool in their quest for the Premier League title. However, at 28 years old, he has decided it’s time for a change, a sentiment that he has communicated to Liverpool officials on multiple occasions.

Initially, Diaz was interested in a move to Barcelona, as the club believed he would be a perfect addition to enhance their offensive lineup with Raminyamal and Rafina.

Sources indicate that Barcelona made an offer of approximately £65 million for Diaz, but after Liverpool rejected it, they began exploring other options.

Barça also sought to recruit Nico Williams and ultimately decided to pursue a loan for Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. According to ESPN, Bayern Munich remains the leading European club in the race to acquire Diaz.

So far, Liverpool has been firm regarding their stance, but if the transfer window remains open for more than a month, sources anticipate they may soften their position as the deadline approaches.
