Man United to Exclude Quartet from Upcoming US Tour

Sources have informed ESPN that Manchester United will leave Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho behind for their preseason tour in the U.S.

The four players are available for transfer this summer and are currently training separately from their teammates at Carrington.

United made this decision as they prepared to travel to Chicago on Tuesday, concerned about falling behind Manchester City.

This move is viewed as an endorsement of coach Reuben Amorim, who has deemed the quartet surplus to requirements.

Last summer, Erik Ten Hag faced challenges with Jadon Sancho, leading to a tense situation. This year, United decided it was best to keep Garnacho, Malacia, Sancho, and Antony at home to assist Amorim and minimize distractions during their three-game U.S. tour.

According to ESPN, the club is open to receiving discounted offers for this group before the transfer deadline. Antony has been linked with Real Betis, where he previously had a loan spell, as well as Atletico Madrid, while Juventus has shown interest in Sancho.

ESPN sources mention that Garnacho prefers to remain in the Premier League. United had initially set Garnacho’s price at approximately £70 million ($94.4 million) in January but is now looking at offers near £40 million.

Additionally, United has consented to Marcus Rashford’s loan to Barcelona for the season. The Spanish club will cover Rashford’s full wages and has the option for a permanent move next summer for around €30 million.

Rashford arrived in Barcelona on Sunday and has signed a contract, having not played for United since December after a loan at Aston Villa last season.

Fan Take: This news is crucial as it signals Manchester United’s willingness to reshape their squad and focus on a new direction under Amorim. For soccer fans, these transfers could redefine the competitive landscape in the Premier League, impacting both team dynamics and player performances.
