  • Is Carlos set for England return?
  • Diego Carlos will be a useful addition

Leeds United are interested in signing former Aston Villa defender Diego Carlos during the summer transfer period.

According to Turkish publication Takvim, Leeds has already submitted offers to sign players with a loan for upcoming campaigns. They will also face competition from Sunderland and Burnley.

Is Carlos set for England return?

All three promoted clubs are trying to close the back, and are interested in Brazilians. The player joined Aston Villa in 2022 for a fee of around £26 million, but he suffered from injuries issues and was not a regular starter for the club. He was to participate in the Turkish costume Fenerbafe in January.

Carlos was also linked to Newcastle United at the time.

It would be interesting to see if they are ready to lend him and send him after just a few months of signature. There’s no doubt that Carlos is a fit and reliable defender at his best. He could be a very useful acquisition of Leeds, Sunderland and Burnley.

They need to improve their team to do well on top English flights. They have secured promotions to the Premier League and will want to establish themselves as regulars in the Premier League.

They wouldn’t want to return to the championship next summer. They need quality players to survive and Carlos will be a useful acquisition. He knows the league well and the opportunity to return to the Premier League may be exciting for him.

His time at Aston Villa doesn’t follow the plan, and the Brazilian defender may feel he’s in an unfinished business in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
