  • Hammer was established to strengthen defense
        • West Ham now signs the “offensive” Vandesliga winner against Sunderland
  • “Dominant” Hajidari could be superior at London Stadium

According to journalist Dominique Schneider, West Ham United has now reached an oral agreement to sign the defender.

Hammer was established to strengthen defense

West Ham recently secured Kyle Walkerpeter’s signature on a free transfer, but Graham Potter is not planning to halt there.

Speaking to a football insider, former scout Mick Brown revealed that Nayef Aguerd’s desire to sign a new centre-back amid a big doubt about the future, Potter is about to sell Morocco International this summer.

Brown said: “West Ham aims to sign a top-class center half. Potter is unhappy with what he has and wants a reliable option in that position. That’s something West Ham has been missing for a while and it’s going to be a priority before the season begins as managers push it forward.

“Potter isn’t happy with Mavpanos. He’s too easily mistaken, he’s responsible for the costly game and wants to move on to Neif Agloud.”

That being said, it may be difficult to compete for the signature of the established top-level centre-back behind Hammer’s highly disappointing 2024-25 campaign.

The Hammer saw his quality firsthand.

That’s what X’s Schneider says West Ham has revealed that he has reached a “verbal agreement” over the deal with Lugano defender Albian Hajdari, and the deal could be on the cheap side.

Hajdari has a release clause of 5 million euros (£4.3 million) included in the Lugano deal, and although the hammer has not yet been triggered, the centre-back is “eager to join” this summer, indicating that trading on the line is very easy.

“Dominant” Hajidari could be superior at London Stadium

The 22-year-old isn’t a big name signature, but there are clear indications that he could be successful at London Stadium and has been working very well for Lugano over the past year.

Luganostar’s defensive ability certainly cannot be questioned given that he is placed in the top 1% and the top 2% of the block in interception per 90 when compared to positional peers.

Not only that, but Swiss International once received high praise from Scout Ben Matinson. Ben Matinson described him as “dominant in the air” and “constructing the ball.”

Over £4 million, Hajdari could be a bargain for Potter’s team, with clear indications that he can kick at London Stadium.
