Man United wants to sell a number of players that don’t rely on Reuben Amorim. Among them is Antony. Despite the impressive loan spell at Real Betis late last season, the 25-year-old winger has no future at Old Trafford.
Antony is one of the leading candidates to leave Man United this summer, but so far it has been an annoying process. He is particularly familiar with a familiar face who is interested in reunion with Brazil International, and is expected to change in the coming weeks, but none of the clubs have agreed.
Antony tilts to reunite with German Eric Ten Hag.
Mick Brown told Soccer Insider that Antony has a chance to reunite with former Man United manager Eric Ten Hagg.
“Anthony has no way of staying at Man United. He wants to sell him forever, so he’s in a similar situation to Rashford, Sancho and Garnacho, but his agents are told to find a destination, so you know what it will bring.
“The thing I find interesting is Bayer Leberkusen because if we were willing to spend £80 million to bring him to Mann United, he would obviously see something in him and maybe he would want to take him to Germany.
“It’s difficult because what kind of money are they trying to get for him? It’s not as close as anywhere as they paid, but they obviously want to take that hit. I want to do it before the season starts, so let’s see what happens.”
It is reported that Antony was in consultation with Antony to return him to the La Liga side, but they are struggling to meet Man United’s demands. Meanwhile, Leverkusen has the money to spend after selling Florian Whartz and Jeremy Fripon to Liverpool at the beginning of the summer.
