Report: 27-year-old “Writing is on the wall” because the exit from Crystal Palace is likely

  • Odsonne Edouard could leave
  • Crystal Palace requires an upgrade

Odsonne Edouard could be on his way out of Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old striker has failed to establish himself as a key player for the London club, and selling him this summer makes sense. He tries to secure travel from the club and get his career back on track with regular football elsewhere.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, needs more quality and depth with attacking units, and should consider bringing upgrades to French attackers.

Eduard was highly regarded during his time at Celtic, and when he joined Crystal Palace, he was expected to develop into a quality player. The move wasn’t working as planned and he was unable to showcase his qualities in the Premier League.

It would be ideal for the parties to go separate ways. The Eagles offered to sell the players in January.

“For his future at Crystal Palace, writing is on the wall,” Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider.

“He has a year left on the contract. He was loaned out to Leicester City last season, but the move didn’t really work for him.

“The best thing for both Odsonne Edouard and Crystal Palace is likely to be farewell this summer’s way.

“But it’s probably not that Eduard will return to Celtic as Brendan Rogers is looking at the other targets.”

Crystal Palace requires an upgrade

It will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace can bring the right addition this summer. They have been overly dependent on Jean Philippe Mateta for goals. He needs more support in offense next season.
