Liverpool reportedly views Aston Villa Central defender Ezri Consa as another option to bolster this summer.

The Reds have had a busy transfer window so far, bringing in Florian Wiltz, Jeremy Fripon and Milos Kerkez, but Hugo Ekichique should be the next one, according to Athletic and others.

However, there are also concerns about the lack of a new contract for key defensive player Ibrahima Konate.

France International may be heading to depart for a free transfer next summer, but Liverpool may be forced to consider his bid this year.

According to the Galicia Press, the Consana is one option to replace Conate if Liverpool moves to Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old England International has been involved in villas since 2019 and has always been a fairly solid and reliable performer.

Consa represents the smart business in Liverpool, imagines that some of the fans want to see the club’s purpose a little higher.

Konate is undoubtedly with the best defenders in Europe. Even if Consa is a strong performer at the Premier League level, he is probably not in the exact same category as someone like Konate.

“Ibrahima Conate isn’t something Virgil van Dick or Mohamed Sarah heading towards Liverpool in terms of importance. If they lose him, it’s going to be a bit of a pinch. But that’s it,” Colliemore wrote.

“I think there are great advocates around the world that Liverpool can unearth and excavate, and Connecte will let him go if he doesn’t want to sign and commit to a very healthy Liverpool wage structure.

“Is Guehi a similar alternative? No. But the beauty of Guehi is that he comes in and he is a versatile option across defense. He’s also a very good club guy.

“But I’m amazed that teams like Liverpool haven’t seen Ezri Consa in this situation given the PSR disaster at Aston Villa.”
