Jannik Sinner reappoints former fitness coach Umberto Ferrara

Wimbledon champion Janik Sinner rehired Humberto Ferrara as his fitness coach after nearly a year after firing him for a role in the top-ranked player’s doping case.

The sinner parted ways with Ferrara and physical therapist Giacomo Nordi last year following an investigation into a positive test of the substance Crosteborg, which was banned in March.

The reunion comes after Thinner recently removed fitness coach Marco Panicz and physiotherapist Ulyze Badio from his team.

“This decision was made in conjunction with the Jannik management team as part of continuing preparations for upcoming tournaments, such as the Cincinnati Open and the US Open,” the Sinner’s team said in a statement. “Umberto has played an important role in the development of Janik up until now. His return reflects a new focus on continuity and performance at the highest level.”

The sinner was banned for three months in February in agreement with the world’s doping organisations. Wada had appealed to the Arbitration Court for sports over the Independent Court’s decision in August to clarify the offenders of fraudulent conduct.

Returning to action in May, the sinner who lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the French Open Finals, can gain muscle mass before beating him to win Wimbledon, said Crosteborg entered his system after Nardi applied the cut with his own hands to the cut before carrying out treatment for the sinner.

The spray was given to Nardi by Ferrara.

The sinner was spared negligence or negligence by the independent court, and he accepted that he was inadvertently contaminated with material.

At the US Open last year, the sinner explained his decision to say goodbye to Ferrara and Nardi, saying “I’m not confident in continuing with them.”

Ferrara, who was responsible for the incident at Nardi, worked with Matteo Berettini this year.

Reuters and the Associated Press contributed to the report.
