Remy Gardner has extended his contract with the Japanese manufacturer Yamaha, committing to remain with the team in World Supersport (WorldSSP) for an additional two years, through the end of the 2027 season. Gardner, who joined Yamaha’s World Superbike (WorldSBK) squad in 2023 and currently holds 12th place overall—second among Yamaha riders—will continue racing with the GRT team, reinforcing his presence in the championship over the next few years.

Gardner expressed his enthusiasm about continuing with Yamaha and WorldSSP, acknowledging the progress made so far and emphasizing that there is more potential to unlock. He highlighted his goal to consistently compete for podium finishes throughout the remainder of the 2025 season and to improve even further in 2026.

Nicolo Kanepa, Yamaha Motor Europe’s Road Racing Sports Manager, echoed this sentiment, noting Gardner’s clear ability to challenge for podiums and emphasizing the focus on consistency and growth in performance through the end of this year and into the next.

Gardner is the second Yamaha rider to secure their position for the 2026 WorldSSP season, following Andrea Locatelli, who recently renewed his contract after claiming his first Superbike victory at Assen. With Gardner and Locatelli confirmed, there remain two official Yamaha seats to be filled: one in the factory team, currently held by Jonathan Rea, and one spot at GRT alongside Domini Quay Garter, Gardner’s current teammate. Leading candidates for these positions include the current WorldSSP points leader and prominent Yamaha rider Stefano Manzi.

Fan Take: This contract extension for Remy Gardner signals Yamaha’s confidence in his talent and commitment to building a strong, competitive presence in WorldSSP. For racing fans, it means we can expect thrilling battles and consistent podium challenges from Gardner, which will surely elevate the excitement and intensity of the championship in the coming seasons.
