Manchester United desperately needs a new striker this summer, and Reuben Amorim needs reinforcements in the final third for him to succeed in the role.
The Red Devils currently have only two senior options in the book in the form of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
The aforementioned pair registered only seven Premier League goals throughout 2024/25, highlighting the need for new talismans before the new campaign.
Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo’s signatures have already been completed within the last third, but more will be required if they will be on the table again next year.
As a result, many players have appeared on the radar, leading to huge rumors about the potential transfer of multiple top-level offensive talent.
The latest on United’s new addition hunting
Ollie Watkins has been a constant linker with United this summer, but this year’s Aston Villa Talisman trade has yet to be completed.
New talks have been given over the past few days about the 29-year-old’s signature, but his current asking price is £60 million, which could prove to be a little too expensive.
However, according to TeamTalk, the fanbase doesn’t have to worry about it.
The report alleges that Christopher Vivel has made the Slovenians the number one target for the centre-forward position this summer after missing out on Victor Gyoker and Hugo Ekitique.
The 22-year-old also said it could be available for a fee in the £67 million region this summer.
Why is United’s latest target likely to be their next Van Persy?
Striker Robin Van Persy was able to be very impressed during his time at United, winning the club in the incredible Premier League 13 years ago.
The Dutch took part in a controversial deal with rival Arsenal, but his £24 million deal was a great deal for the club, and then led the side to title glory in Irl Alex Ferguson’s final season.
He was notorious for his incredible ability to hit the ball, as seen in his incredible efforts against Aston Villa, and caught a long ball from Wayne Rooney before he left the house strong in a volley.
The experienced forward has registered 30 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions. Of these, 26 appeared in the league and later won the Division Golden Boots Award.
Sesko could potentially replicate such feats at Old Trafford in the near future.
The Slovenians also have very similar ball strike techniques. Just like Van Persy’s way in Manchester, you can power the ball behind the net.
His strike against Werder Bremen last year was also proof of the strength he has, with his efforts finding the top corner and recorded at an astounding 126.43 km/h.
Labeled as “incredible” by Talent Scout Antonio Mango, Sesko registered 1.2 shots with a goal per 90 along with 0.5 goals scored per game at Bundesliga last season.
He also completed 55% of the dribble he attempted, with 57% of the air winning, then passed to Amorim the all-round talent he wanted within the last third.

If he can move his skill set to England with him, Cesco is a huge addition to United, and could potentially complete the terrifying trio by starring alongside Cunha and Mbeumo.
If he reaches the level produced by Old Trafford’s Van Persy, it’s a bargain and will help them explore to end the wait times that don’t think about the title of the Top Division of English titles.
