LAFC is reportedly looking to sign Tottenham forward Son Heung-Min.
The 33-year-old’s future at Spurs is uncertain. In January, the club opted to extend his contract by one year, pushing the end date to 2026, rather than negotiating new terms.
New Tottenham manager Thomas Frank praised Son’s decade-long service to the club but declined to confirm his status as captain for the upcoming season.
In June 2023, ESPN reported that Son had received an attractive offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad. Although he chose to remain with Tottenham, interest from that region continues to persist.
Sources indicate that LAFC has signaled its willingness to act if Son is open to leaving Spurs this summer.
As discussions continue, the club’s preseason tour in Hong Kong and Seoul might complicate matters due to Son’s immense popularity in those regions.
Tottenham’s final match in Seoul is scheduled for August 3rd before they return to Europe for the Premier League season.
Son played a key role in Tottenham’s Europa League final victory over Manchester United, marking the club’s first trophy while achieving 450 appearances since his move from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 for £222 million ($29.8 million).

When asked if Son had a say in his future, Frank responded:
“I have a player who is fully committed, trains well, and plays tomorrow. A long-standing player always has decisions to consider from the club’s perspective.”
“If someone wants to leave at some point, there could be an option there. However, the club ultimately decides. For now, he’s here, and I’m not overly concerned—let’s revisit this in five to six weeks.”
Fan Take: This potential move is significant for fans as it highlights the growing appeal of Major League Soccer, especially for high-profile players. If Son joins LAFC, it could elevate the league’s status and attract more international talent, fostering a more competitive environment that excites fans.
