The low score was once again the day at TPC Twin City, but the day after setting a course record at 60, Adam Svenson struggled in second round 75. The leader is condensed to the top of the leaderboard, with 23 players within five shots of the lead towards the weekend.

At the top is Thorbjørn Olesen. He backed up opening 62 with two rounds 66 and moved the lead to 14 under. Olesen is one of many players entering the week that required a victory to move into the FedEx Cup playoffs, and after starting 129th in points in 129th place, he is on his way to punch tickets to the top 70 and a spot in St. Jude Classic.

Jake Knapp leads the Chase Group with 13 under. He continues to compete in PGA Tour events in pursuit of his second career victory. Knapp leads the field in driving and this week uses his length as a weapon for the TPC Twin City to pick up more than 3.8 strokes from the tee.

The biggest name floating at the top of the leaderboard is back to a 10-under T8. Wyndham Clark fired a 65-under 65 and rose on Friday, giving the shot in his first victory of the year. Chris Gotterup stagnated a bit at 69, but he is once again on the first page of the leaderboard heading into the weekend.

Akshay Bhatia fired the second 66 of the week to join that group, and Joel Dahmen is trending towards one of the best finishes of the season after age 65. The round of the day belonged to Alex Noren, who moved to the T10 group at 62 from outside the cut line.

Coming on Friday, Max Homa and Ricky Fowler looked like a threat, but they couldn’t keep pace from Thursday and slip outside the top 20. Homa is under 68 years old and is at T24.

leader

1. Thorbjørn Olesen (-14): Olesen can be extremely supportive of his cause this week. The victory pushes him into the playoffs into the top 60, giving the top 5 a strong chance to move to the top 100 to maintain full-time status on the 2026 PGA Tour.

Candidate

2. Jake Knapp (-13)
T3. Piercencoody, Sam Stevens (-12)
T5. Matti Schmid, Chris Kirk, Takumi Kanaya (-11)
T8. Wyndham Clark, Chris Gotterup, Akshay Battia, Joel Dermen, Emiliano Grillo and four others (-10)
T17. Luke Clanton and six others (-9)
T24. Max Homa and the other seven (-8)
T32. Sam Burns, Ricky Fowler, Gary Woodland, 10 others (-7)

Knapp has struggled to put together four full rounds, but Knapp has been playing well recently. The Canadians and the Scots saw him fall from where he was on a hunt on Sunday, but fell from his pace in the ultra-final round. He’s coming into the weekend again and looking to put together a complete tournament to win his second career victory.

Stevens has had a solid season so far. He is sensational around the green for the first two days, and if he can keep his putter hot, he will be a threat to victory in his first career. The former Texas standout Coody is still trying to find his footing on tour. He is in a position to notch on one of the best finishes of his young career.

Schmid, Kirk and Grillo all entered the week with the playoff bubble, but they are moving on to solid top 70 positions. And there are three major threats at 10 under: Clark, Gottap and Batia. The trio has short live odds, and people who like to see odds makers make their biggest moves over the weekend.

Clanton continues to produce some solid results as they become more comfortable on the tour, but veterans Homa, Burns, Fowler and Woodland want to create something special to see another PGA tour title on Saturday.

This week’s low score sets the cut line at 5 under, and many players hoping for a strong performance this week were sent home on Friday. Maverick McNerry, Sanjae Im, Tom Hoge and Jacob Bridgeman were among the most ranked players on the field this week, but they all miss the weekend. Keith Mitchell and Bion Hun missed a cut and dropped out of the very important top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings and will have to play their paths in the Wyndham Championship next week. Cam Davis fell to the 69th spot after starting week 65, but Van Luen slid to 66th, creating some stress for both

Odds by DraftKings

  • Thorbjørn Olesen (9/2)
  • Jake Nap (9/2)
  • Sam Stevens (10-1)
  • Piersenkudi (10-1)
  • Chris Gottap (12-1)
  • Wyndham Clark (14-1)
  • Akshay Bhatia (18-1)
  • Mattischmitt (18-1)
  • Luke Clanton (22-1)
  • Chris Kirk (22-1)
  • Emiliano Grillo (22-1)

After the opening round, I liked the knap, but I thought he was my personal favorite to win, but the value is beginning to disappear there in the odds sheet, especially given his difficulties on Sunday. Among the Chase Group, I like as a guy who can really go low when Batia heats up putters, but has a higher floor than some of the other in the mix. Kirk has visited many leaderboards this year, and I think he will remain on the first page all the way through to the end.
