  • Romano Schmidt is required for Aston Villa and West Ham

Aston Villa and West Ham United are interested in signing Werder Bremen, who will attack midfielder Romano Schmidt.

According to Jacob Steinberg, the 25-year-old has attracted the attention of two Premier League clubs with his performance. Fulham keeps the tabs on him too. It would be interesting to see where he ends.

Aston Villa wanted to sign Schmidt last season as well.

Schmid improves both teams

Schmidt was very impressive in the Bundesliga last season, and he registered 11 goal contributions in all competitions. He proved to be a great addition to Aston Villa and West Ham. Both clubs need to add creativity and cutting edge to the final third. The 25-year-old can act as a central midfielder and an offensive midfielder.

He helped create teammate opportunities in the final third, and was able to establish himself as a key player on both teams.

Aston Villa needs more support in the attack, and could be the ideal acquisition for a 25-year-old. He was able to form solid partnerships with the likes of Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers.

Similarly, West Ham also needs more creativity in the last third. They have approved Mohammed Kudus’ departure and will need to replace him. Austrian International is not a wide player like Kudos, but he will certainly fill in the creative void on the side.

The opportunity to move into the Premier League is extremely exciting for him and he will try to establish himself as a key player in the UK once the transfer is made. He has the physicality and technical attributes to make it work in the Premier League.

It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa and West Ham will follow up on their interest with their official proposal to get the deal done. They have the resources to sign players, and they were able to seduce the German club with a favorable offer.
