Newcastle struggles with efforts to sign anyone other than Anthony Elanga, and their luck may not change. Over the past few weeks they’ve been chasing new strikers and have just received mixed news about one of their main targets.

Newcastle was in the market for strikers to replace the Swedes, even before Alexander Isaac Saga. They missed Liam Dellup, Joa Pedro and Hugo Echicchique, which saw them turn their attention to Joain Wissa.

Wissa, who scored 19 goals in the Premier League last season, has already agreed to personal terms with Newcastle who wants to join in to fulfill her wish to play in the Champions League. However, it can be difficult to achieve a transaction.

According to Talksport, Brentford informed Newcastle that he is not ready to sell Whissa this summer and declined a second bid from the Carabao Cup winner, which is believed to be worth more than £30 million. They also state that trading is only possible if they receive more than £50 million.

Brentford’s attitude greatly angered Wissa, who felt the club had broken the oral agreement last summer. For this reason, he went on strike by refusing to train as he aims to force a move to Newcastle.

Wissa made it very clear that she would like to join the Champions League club, which Newcastle is. He also has attracted interest from Tottenham, but does not appear to make an offer at this stage. This situation will make it a situation that you should keep an eye on Brentford’s determination to hold it firmly for the rest of the summer.
